Shelf label says they are new, and girl on checkout told me that they will be more expensive nearer December, so best get some now.

And with a bit of luck leave the old shelf edge label so we can have them for free

Had a look today but the only tesco truffles I found were £3.29 a pack - a brown square box. Maybe this is only in some stores?

Chances are other MSEr's have already cleared the shelves.

Unlikely - I live in Henley and as we're considered to be very affluent, we hardly ever get the good deals unless they are nationwide, so I imagine they have sold out. Or maybe they haven't put them out yet?

    They have them online:

Tesco Belgian Milk Chocolate Round Truffles 200g £0.99 (£0.50/100g)

Just do 'start shopping' then search for 'truffles' and up they pop!!

50p a box at asda, but don't know if same quality!

    ;)

If they are the *Belgian truffles*, then they are fantastic as well as fantastic value for money.

I bagged up small numbers, tied pretty ribbons to them and gave them to colleagues as little Christmas treats last year... They looked expensive, went down a treat and everyone raved about them!

Thank you! I had intended to make mince pies, or Christmas cookies, but someone introduced me to the truffles and they worked out to be about the same cost/slightly cheaper and far less messy!

I couldn't find the right sized sweetie bags, so I blagged some from a luxury chocolate shop in town... I don't think anyone suspected that I'd been such a cheapskate!

I'm trying to stay away from chocolate at the moment, so someone else will have to do the truffle taste test, sadly!

Invested in a box for the OH and kids to smuggle into the cinema last weekend, on the condition that they bought me a couple back to test!

They're nice, very similar if not possibly slightly better (memory failing) than the Asda ones. Don't taste cheap and good value for 99p.

I shall probably buy a few to add to the eu chocolate mountain that appears in our living room every Christmas :D

I got one of these today - they weren't with the usual boxes of chocs but on the 'Christmas' shelves.

Strange, the Tesco economy Belgian truffles are £1.99 for the same size box!
  • I can't find them online!!!!!
Did try Asdas Belgian flaked truffles the other day, they are really nice and not expensive for 200g
