It would work - you'll just need a UK kettle-type power cord and it'll be fine (I got one in the US before they were out here so can confirm it won't break!). You will also have no issues setting up a UK PlayStation Network account.
The games are not region coded, so will work on consoles from any region. Blu-ray movies are region coded (though some aren't), so you will largely be limited to US BD movies. It will not play UK DVD movies or UK PS2 / PS1 games.0 -
Thanks for that. Will I have to buy the power cord thing for there too or can i get it here? and where from? sorry if dumb question:o0

Any electrical store should sell the lead you need, it's a universal type....What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
So it connects to the UK tvs fine? Do you need any kind of adapter?0

No adaptor required, all PS3's are multi-voltage, just connect as you would a UK model & away you go..........
Does this differ from a PS2? I guess I was hoping they were the same in this regard, but it sounds like maybe the PS3's are updated? My husband has an old PS2 from the States tucked away somewhere, and we just assumed it wouldn't work here. He'd be thrilled if I found a way for him to use it!0 -

Thanks for the help, I finally got my USA ps2 hooked up, just had to order a lost cable from ebay. It works fine, no converter needed to get it from ntsc to pal.
Can I buy UK ps2 games to use with this? Will a U.S. ps2 play games from the UK?0 -
