I don't buy "universal" remotes anymore - in my experience they usual turn out to be anything but!
Aldi and Lidl regularly offer decent remotes that have preprogrammed codes but are also capable of learning commands.
The last one I bought was a silver Welltech from Lidl, with a backlit LCD display, ten separate device mode keys (tv, dvd, vcr, cbl, asat, dsat, aux1, aux2, cd, amp) and the capacity to learn 150 new commands. I'm sure it was only a fiver.
