Advice requested - Credit Card Insurance

Hello,
Nice to meet you, I'm very new and keen to get my finances sorted!
I'm hoping that someone can help me, I'm looking for advice. I've had a bad deal with a credit card, I've now finally been able to shift some of it to a life of balance account. However, I don't know what to do about the insurance. Is Credit Card insurance a good idea? It seems that having it is a good idea, but am I right?
The Barclaycard one is something like 60p per every £100. Is there another way to protect payments? Is there a better way?
Many thanks!

I'm just giving you a 'bump' to get this back up the board - sorry can't help you but hopefully someone will be along shortly to help you. Good Luck.

imo I would cancel the insurance.......There are so many diffrent things that they come out with when you need to use it anyway. I have cancelled all my insurances over 5 cards that I have and what I was paying the insurance I am overpaying my cards ....... It makes a massive diffrence.... The choice is yours at the of the day, and everyone has diffrent circumstances....
Good Luck with your choice

Ooh thanks for this. You're right, I could do so much more with the cash! I wouldn't want my family affected by my credit cards, so if I were in an accident/lost job I had hoped that the insurance would help. I'm guessing probably not!
Is there any other way to protect yourself - apart from not using credit cards!0
