Hi everyone
Im in despute with Virgin and the debit has been passed to Garlands Debit Recovery.
Whilst not acknowledging the debit, I have spoken to them twice, on both occasions they wouldnt listen, and talked me down. ..
So today, when they left a hostile message on my answerphone I called them ,and said the following
1. i am by no means acknowledging any alleged liability, by making this call
2.For my own security purposes, I am recording this conversation
3.The number they called is a private number , and if they called it again, I would report them to Ofcom
I was put on hold......
The next thing I was told , was that I could NOT record the call, and that it wouldnt be legally binding in a court of law, Oh I said but its ok for you to record mine ? if its not legally binding then you have nothing to worry about ...
They cut me off
I rang them back..They cut me off again ..
So I called again,.This time I spoke to a supervisor,
She couldnt have been nicer, Said she would persoanaly speak to Virgin, and could " understand " why I was in despute, also promised never to call me at home again
Strange how people change, when you turn the tables on them
Just have to wait and see what happens now ...

Providing you tell them at the start of the call that it is being recorded they have the choice of either continuing the call or hanging up.
If they continue the call in the knowledge that it is being recorded then it would be admissible in court. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
