Where can I buy some big soldiers?

Don't know if this is the right board but hopefully someone can help. I am decorating my sons bedroom in an army theme and want some soldiers to parachute down from the ceiling. They need to be about 8"+ in height. Have looked on ebay but can't find anything. Just wondered if anyone had seen any on there travels.
Thanks.

Just exactly what I was thinking. Just about the right size, and he can always play with them if he gets bored.

  • Thanks for the replies. I will have to try and find 10 action men, they don't seem to be cheap though. Not to worry my son is worth it. He has had bare plaster walls for nearly a year!!!!

I would source pictures from the internet of soldiers and print them out in colour 8" 's tall.
Stick them back to back and then get them laminated. Then cut round the laminate. If you do not have a printer, get it done at a shop using pictures from a soldier magazine.

Or even better someone you know will work in an office and do it for you .

They would look very effective and also will solve the problem of hanging anything to heavy from the ceiling. Also cheap.

You see loads of action men in charity shops these days.Occasionally you see soldier toys in poundland too.Parachutes could be made from plain white bin liner (or net curtain)Cut into squares and connected to the soldiers under their arms using shirring elastic(so it doesnt break if he pulls them.(You can tell I usually post on old style cant you? :P )

That's what i was going to suggest too. I got a friends son some cheapo toys for when he comes around to my house (I have daughters so only have girly toys ;)). One of the things I got was a action man type doll with full army gear, helmet, guns etc....! It was only a couple of pounds from one of these discount shops. I would definately try your local poundshop for something similar.
Just run, run and keep on running!

  • Thanks to every one for all your help. Looks like I better make a trip out to poundland. Perhaps do the charity shops whilst I'm there.
