Just a heads-up for the other Xbox gamers on the board, my local GAME is opening its doors tonight at 11:45pm with sales starting at 00:01am. Not sure if this is for pre-orders only or not but as i've pre-ordered, I don't really care! Only six hours to go...OMG! ;D

Anyone who has made 'modifications' to their Xbox and intends to play Halo 2 online via Xbox Live should be VERY careful. The gmae includes NEW code to detect unauthorised modifications and within 24 hours of playing Halo 2 online you will be permanately banned from the Xbox Live service. Other than some SERIOUS hacking work-rounds, the only way round it is to buy another Xbox if you wish to go back online....

I have to wait until 8.30am tomorrow to get my pre-ordered copy from Game :-[ >:(

My local branch is not opening tonight because it is located inside a shopping centre and they're too cheap to pay for security.......

.....but i have also pre-ordered a Limited Edition H2 from Amazon for £29.99 so when that turns up in a couple of days (and as I don't need 2 copies) I intend to take full advantage of Games 10 day guarantee - so that'll teach 'em ;D

Quite looking forward to seeing the assistants face when I take Halo2 back saying I didnt like it (assuming its as good as it should be)

A friend of mine very naughtily got a French copy of Halo 2 before the release date, and we had a day of playing it on a 2 X-Box LAN.  I thought that it was going to be very hard to top the original Halo, but some really good things.  The energy sword is very fun - dual weapons are very cool and add even more strategy, and destructible vehicles and the ability to jump on them make it even fairer.  Some really good maps too.  Anyway, if you're going to get it from GAME, you may want to consider using the £5 voucher in NUTS this week, or even doing the four game trade in and paying £7.99, details here:

To Pike999, or anyone else that knows: will using the UK Halo 2 mess around with a hacked UK X-Box like the Star Wars: Battlefront demo included with the Star Wars Trilogy was supposed to?

Well I'm sat waiting for Mr Poochy to come back from Game at Trafford Ctr, Manchester with the Ltd Ed.

It seems that running Halo 2 on an "enhanced" xbox certainly will result in being barred on xbox live. :'(

Apparently there is code in H2 which interrogates your xbox for unrecognised serial no.s (e.g. harddrive) and possibly files - even when any "extras" are disabled. (this is the current thinking anyway)

Not something I've researched in too much depth as I havent got my wi-fi mediajukexbox off the ground yet - so I could be wrong.
