Advice re: paid old CCJ please??

I'm a little bit stuck.....
I had a CCJ against me from Capital One in Aug 2002. It was for £592 inc. costs.
It was passed onto a third party to collect, and I agreed a settlement figure of £250 with them (Dec 2003 if I remember). They sent me a letter to say the matter was closed and my credit record would be marked as satisfied.
I'm sorting out my credit report at the moment and the only blip left on it is this CCJ as it is not showing as satisfied.
I called the solicitor on the original CCJ paperwork (Geoffrey Parker Bourne) who said it isn't showing as paid in any way.
The problem is, I lost the letter about 6 months ago, and I can't remember who the collection company was. It definitely wasn't Geoffrey Parker Bourne.
I know it was passed to my local court after the CCJ was granted , as they wrote to me, but after that the trail is cold.
Should I call my local court to find out who it would have gone to?
My concern is that Geoffrey Parker Bourne suddenly flag it up as unpaid and start chasing me for something I thought was sorted nearly 3 years ago.
I know I'd know the name of the company if I saw it or heard it again, but I can't think of the name :-(
Any advice would be appreciated as I would like to get this marked as satisfied.
many thanks

When I needed to get mine marked as satisfied, I wrote to the court that had issued the CCJ, and they dealt with it. Try ringing the court and they'll tell you what to do. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I gave the court a ring who originally issued it (Northampton) and they still had it as outstanding/unsatisfied.
They recommended calling who it was for (Capital One) so I gave them a call. They confirmed that the account was closed and marked as satisfied. They did say they have reported it to experian and equifax, but i've asked them to re-report it.
The only slightly odd thing was that, although the account is marked as paid with full and final settlement, because I paid the 50% settlement figure which was offered to me (£250), they have reported to the credit agencies that the CCJ is only partially satisfied (although they don't ever want any of the remaining balance off me). Not really sure that this is much help as it will still show up as not satisfied, but they are going to put it in writing to me, so I might be able to get something added as a note to my credit file.

This is correct. Even if they offer you a settlement figure rather than you offering it, the debt is still not satisfied because you didn't pay it all.
After that it all depends on the company you are dealing with. Some will just leave it on your record as outstanding, even though they are not pursueing you for it. Others mark it as satisfied because the account is closed.
