    How are you getting the money to pay it off?
    Are you taking out a loan? If so then this may not be a good idea.

    Once you have sorted things out with MBNA and paid your settlement figure, have you thought about reclaiming your credit card charges?

    I have remortgaged to pay off my debts/consolidate.i have the money in my bank account.
    I have checked my credit file and there is only a record of being 2 months behind.

    I will start to reclaim my charges once this has finished/been settled.
