As a father, my view was always leave it, it is one of lifes great surprises BUT when my wife founs she was carrying Twins we decided we really needed to know so that I could properly prepare the nursery and we could buy enough stuff to get us through for a while.
We knew what their names would be, so my wife was able to talk to the bump using their names as well!

In true moneysaving style here is the geographical number to use instead of the 0870. Call 01925 821117 instead!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Hi, What a brillant idea, I was gutted after my 20 week scan I was so excited about finding out, but the baby had his/her legs firmly crossed the person doing the scan didn't offer me any chance to get up and walk about to try and move the baby, now im 23 weeks pregnant and still so desp to find out what we're having, but I can't really afford to pay to have another scan done, I live in milton Keynes so leeds is miles away for me does anybody know of any place around here or the south that does them for free???0

Hi I've got 4 kids and found out what 1st, 2nd and 4th baby were (no 3 had her legs crossed) people kept saying don't you want a surprise - well to us it was still a surprise to find out at the scan what we were having as you obviously don't get pregnant knowing what you're having!
I also had a 4D scan with number 4 even though we knew what we were having (got a discount as no 2 goes to school with her daughter v handy) and it was lovely to see his face (and see him quite clearly sucking his thumb and toes, and yawning) and could tell already that he looked like his brother and sisters, and the sonographer did ask us if we wanted to know the sex for definite as she didn't have to look otherwise. I'd definitely recommend 4D scans especially free ones, because they can cost as much as or more than £100 especially for gender scans.
p.s. good luck AnnThis site rocks and has saved me loads -
