Depends on how much room you've got and what materials you have. Good ones the Army do involve crossing an area using barrels and planks where you're given 3 barrels, 2 planks and the planks aren't long enough to span it, building rafts from wood and barrels, moving objects by building a makeshift crane.0

I don't even know what one is.
I've never done one.0 -
There is lots of team building ideas on the Bussiness Ball site.

Thanks so far, i have 20 people and we will be in a hotel meeting room....thanks
I looked on business balls and it seems hard to pick a specific task:beer:0 -
If everyone is up for fun do a "circle of trust" Basic idea is you all sit on each others laps in a big circle and try and walk round in the circle whilst remaining intact!! Its quite fun and guarenteed everyone falls over!!
Or do fire a frog! Split teams up into 4 provide with about 100 elastic bands 3 bamboo canes and a beanie frog, theyhave to builkd a catapult and then fire their frog the furthest.
Play the easiest game in the book, Write out 10 different couples, so you end up with 10 males and 10 females write them on sticky notes and then paste one to everyones forehead they then have to find their partner in alloted space by asking questions!!
Make it fun!!Mortgage free wannabe! No idea on date yet! £132,350 TBC

I do a very quick and easy one with minimal materials. Give everyone a roll of tin foil, blutack and sellotape. They have to build a bridge which will be self supporting but will allow one member of the team to pass under.
Or another one is to build a tower using dried spaghetti and marshmallows....
If it's a more intellectual one you're after I've got the "Zin Obelisk". It's a puzzle which relies on a team of people working together, sharing information and identifying red herrings to get to a result. It takes exactly 45 minutes including briefing and debriefing. The advantage of this one is that it is entirely dependent on team skills - I've done it with call centre people, engineers, management teams and if there is no info sharing and team work, they won't get the answer no matter how clever they are! The drawback is that if even just one person has done it before, then it spoils the session so always necessary to have a fall back.0 -

Sorry, my pennyworth is that you have to put more effort in. Of course it's hard to pick a task and it requires some amount of thought! There was exactly 36 minutes between Merlin posting about businessballs and you posting that it seemed hard to pick a task. Have you thought that perhaps you've been given this task precisely because it will require you to exercise the old grey cells in a specific direction?
Hints - in what areas do you feel that your team could improve most (eg communication, organisation, less prima donnas, or just getting to know each other?). Pick the area that you feel they could most do with development as a team and look for an exercise that is most useful to that specific area. And then afterwards you'll be able to tell your manager why you picked it. Win-win!0 -
Is this like a getting to know you thing? Get everyone in a circle, hold hands with any 2 people that are not stood next to you, then detangle yourselves without letting go.
