Value buy fruit and Veg in Supermarkets

Options
While shopping in Asda this morning , I put 2 bags of Granny Smiths pre packed apples (£1.68 each) in my trolley.
Cursing the price , I happened to pick up a bag of value apples and noticed in small letters on the bag Granny Smiths !
I have never noticed the names on these value bags before ,so moral is always check the value bags of bananas and apples before forking out.
Saved myself nearly £2 a week

  • We always buy Smartprice apples at Asda. They are invariably the nicest tasting ones in the store IMO - and just 88p per large bag!

Keep an eye on the price per kg though - loose bananananas were cheaper per kg than the value ones in sainsburys this week

Morrisons are often selling Jonagold apples lose for 64p/kg Asda sell for this price too from time to time - cheaper than buying pre-packed value ranges.

Though I often buy fruit and veg from Birmingham market, Bananas today Fair Trade 33p/kg!! Cherries £1.60/kg.
