    Hi

Depends what you mean by 'good'. Best advice would be to speak to a whole-of-market broker.

It may well be that you don't need to self-cert, in which case you could get better rates on a standard mortgage.
  • Self-cert mortgages are very restriced at the moment. To get anything approaching a decent rate you will need a sizeable deposit. Having said that, a lot of people think they need to self-cert when that is not the case. As the previous poster suggested, speak to a whole of market broker to fully discuss your options

Thanks Conrad - do you remember who it was with??

In response to the other messages, I'm assuming we would need to do a self cert as my partner is on a contract role via an agency.

We're looking for a remortage - LTV 85% and we also have another small mortage in our name (aprrox 55k) for a property we own and rent out - value 135k ish.

My major concern is my partners lack of perm employment. He's been with the same utility co. in an IT role for the past 7 months and will be there until at least Dec.

Can anyone advise on the best remortgage idea? Thanks!
