Take posts on here with a pinch of salt. Just pick out the useful bits.

Sorry to hear you're struggling. Interest rates have been historically low for the last decade. The UK has a hard time coming.

Cut down what you can and try and get by. There's many things you can do to save money.

THE Deft Free Wannabe board will be a good place to get help. Lot's of other genuine people in the same boat.

I bet they can save you hundreds and make up for the £100.

Good luck and stay around. MSE is great.

PS The House boards are easily the most aggressive/harsh on here. You'll find other areas are different and may be better suited.

Why is everyone being so harsh? The guy seems genuine enough to me and deserves a break.

PS Firefox (web browser) has a built in spell checker (if you care of course. You don't have to), which I find useful. It highlights stuff as you type and you just right click and choose the real word.

No worries. Did you have a look at the DFW board/link I posted?

You'll be amazed at the savings possible. Really. Read up, or post your own thread and you'll get loads of good advice and a free money make-over plan.

    Hi

Yeah I'm in a similar situation. We have been paying about £560 per month for our mortgage with Northern Rock. It is ending in a couple of months and if we stay with them we'll end up paying an extra £100 or so per month. We are currently looking around for a good deal but unfortunately there's not much on offer at the minute..

Hi - I second the suggestion about posting on the debt-free wannabe thread. They are great at helping you cut down on your spending, and that might well help you and your family pay the mortgage. Can't hurt!

It's not just you - mortgage rates have gone up quite a lot recently.
