  • Did nobody want to read the book?

I'm 30 pages into it and I think it's quite a good read:)

It's amazing how we are all involved in spreading word of mouth even if we don't realise it, every time we talk to a friend or relative about some gadget we've just bought or a film we watched and enjoyed and recommend to somebody else:T (or hated and recommended people not to go to!!!)

Also, apparently we all keep a top 40 in our heads of things(Gadgets, restaurants, films, food products, etc) that we talk about to other people. It is an advertisers dream to get on as many people as possibles top 40, thereby having their product sold for them(as long as the product is good!!!).

We have more power than we think over what people buy!

I took up the offer as well with bzzagent (www.bzzagent.co.uk). Not really to my liking either, but the "custom art bookmarks" that people who buy the book get was a good watch on youtube - not sure what the music in the background was? Video on youtube...CLICKY

  • Don't think I've heard the music before, so I can't help you there, but the video is good.

Seth has his own website if you want to take a look at other things he's done.

I took up this offer through Buzz as Im also an agent and found the book to be interesting and easy to read. I was really interested in hearing how certain brands became so big and how between us we can spread the word on products good and bad to a wide number of people every day.

  • Right I’ve finished reading the book now!

I can’t believe that nobody from the board (except for BzzAgents) wanted to have a look at this manual and comment on it!

THE MANUAL IS NOT ADVERTISING ANYTHING!

It is just an entertaining look at the phenomenon of Word of Mouth advertising from it’s conception to present day, exploring how we all use it in our daily lives whether we realise it or not (Talking to a friend about the latest film we saw/car we bought/new product we tried and passing on our opinions).

What have you got to lose? If you download the PDF and don’t like it after say reading the first five pages, then delete it from your hard drive and come back and tell me what you didn’t like! If you don’t even want to bother to download it for a look, then come and tell me why you don’t want to (But in a nice way! Please don’t make me cry)!

We all have approx 40 topics that we like to talk about at any given time and advertisers would kill to get into our top 40, using fun examples the manual looks at companies who made it onto the list for the right reasons (Croc’s) and the wrong reasons(Apple Ipod Phone).

It looks at why The Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame and Falco wasn’t and hey if you don’t have a look at the manual you’ll never find out how a monkey eats a banana, cos I’m not gonna tell ya!

Go on give it a try, you may even find that you enjoy reading it!
