Robinson Way & F&F Settlements

I haven't posted on here for ages, so hello!

I'm now in the position of being able to pay off all my debts immediately (due to selling our house) and need to negotiate f&f figures.

How much do I start at and do I assume they will negotiate up and therefore start low? Do I do it over the phone or in writing (I'll get final offer in writing!)?

Also I have Robinson Way chasing me for an old water rates account. I was going to pay the water company, and told them, but they still sold the account to Robinson Way. Can I negotiate f&f with them? Even though it's for water rates?

Thanks!

If the debt is with a DCA, i'd start at 30% but i would avoid negotiating over the phone. Put everything in writing.

You can get a guide from CCCS if you email them . Basically you must treat them all equally % wise .

30% of the debt I'm assuming?

Hoping I can do this with Robinson Way. They're driving me mad at the moment, continually phoning me!

There is a letter you could send regarding telephone harassment and that you require all further contact in writing . Or you could go onto BT's choose to refuse service free for awhile . Or , there is a BT phone thats about £25 that has a VIP function, in that only contacts in the address book will ever cause the phone to ring.

But while you are receiving calls , don't make it worthwhile them calling you. Refuse to answer their security questions. You will get nowhere talking to the dca muppet drones that call you on the phone.
  • The really vital point here is to make them think it is a limited offer and there is not any more money in the pot. You need to create a scenario to give them the impression there are other people in line to get the money and that they need to move fast to get it. Believe me this money grabbing swine will jump at the chance of a few quid!

In the past I have said I have lost my job and had a payout and that I can offer them x amount as full and final settlement. I have said that as I owe money and my prospects of getting a similarly paid job are slim, my only real option is bankruptcy. If I went down that route, they would get nothing, so at least what is being offered now is guaranteed, but that I need an answer by return.

Don't feel guilty about lying to these scum bags, they would do (and probably have done) to you.

Good luck and hope this helps.

How old exactly is this water rate account ? Have robinson way ever sent you a notice of fair processing or notice of assignment . You might want to send them a subject access request or at least a statement of account request first.
