Where do I start...............I've been struggling with various debts for the past 5yrs, and until the last year I was just about managing to keep most of the ball in the air...but alas no more!! I have ccj's against my name for credit cards etc, and some charges against my home, and about 4mths ago I was unable to pay my mortage, and then managed to make the next two months payments, but this month i defaulted again!! If a friend was telling me this sorry tale, I would be advising them to contact everybody and try and sort this out, howver the only thing I have successfully managed to do is an extremely good impression of an OSTRICH!!!.................I know its wrong, but I'm by myself and I dont know where to turn ( I feel totally overwhelmed) , and YES i do know IM STUPID!! I hate going home. I dont open the post for weeks...if ever!! and I feel so out of my depth and alone that I have considered suicide!! believe it or not I am a professional person, and there is no way I can go bankrupt, as i would loose my job!!..can anybody out there please give me some advise/help on voluntary repossession and a way forward with the rest of my life....I'm not a bad person.....just stupid!!

hi poshbyrdnomonies, just wanted to say hey and remind you that you are not a bad person or stupid, you have taken a great step by coming on here and asking for help.
My first suggestion would be that you need professional help and it would be a good idea to get in touch with the national debt line and CCCS, who could advise you more.
Another thing would be to post your statement of affairs so people can see where the money is going to and may be able to suggest ways of helping you out.
I am going to bump this up so that other people who have far more knowledge than me can you give you some food advice.
Remember you are a wonderful person and are making positive steps towards your new life.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

oh dont be so hard on yourself! Lots of people on here have got themselves into terrible debt ( me included) it IS frighteneing and depressing BUT there is something you can do about it and you have taken that first step. I cannot really advise you but I would as the previous poster suggested contact someone like CCCS ( only ever talk to charities) or have look at thier website, Consumer Credit Counselling Service. the website allows you to fill in a debt remedy on line then gives options. then you can telephone them. although it is a bit of a rocky road particulary when you first start you will feel so much better once you have taken control. CCCS have heard much worse stories, they are very helpful and supportive and they are non judgmental.good luck and let us know how you get on0

Its time to take control
Oh love, let me tell you that its not important how you got here, you are here now so lets move forward.
First of all, take a couple of days off work, and get all your paperwork together try and get the total balance of everything you owe and the aprs and everything in one place
Then contact http://www.cccs.co.uk/ or http://www.payplan.com/ who are free debt charity's and they will be able to advise you further.
In the meanwhile you need to send a letter to all your creditors explaining that you are experiencing financial difficulties (can someone please post the letter template)
and that you are dealing with one of the two above. You can also send them token £1 payments.
Then go for a nice long walk and get some fresh air, it’s a lovely time of year and there are lots of flowers around, take some time to reflect on your life thus far think of all the important people in your life, friends, family colleagues and your relationships with them tell yourself that you are now going to sort out your debt problems, whatever it takes and feel happy knowing that its all going to be under control. I truly believe that it is and you need to as well.
Then - after all of this post your soa on this page at least then we can see where you might be overspending in some areas and help you cut back and have a realistic budget.
In Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00 :eek:In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T0 -
In this instance although we are all more than happy to go through your SOA with you I think first you do need to speak with CCCs or Payplan asap and get some professional advice. If you are looking at voluntary repossession you should be aware that the lender will make you sign to say that they can persue you for any shortfall. This does not mean that there isn't a solution but you do need to look carefully at all options.0
