Could you not get a credit card from someone like Vanquis (sp) who will lend to people with poor credit history? Spend £20 or so on it a month, and have a DD set up to pay the balance in full, so you are not getting charged interest but you are building up some good credit history.
  • i litteraly cannot get any cards at all not even the high interest ones cap one vanquish etc etc.icon9.gif

make sure you are on the voters roll. Pay £2 and actually get your credit report and see what the exact position is. There is a pre pay card that costs a few quid a month that reports to CRA's i believe so that may be and option.

Pay wages into your basic account, use it regularly and never ever ever have a returned DD. most banks have internal behaviour scores which bypass CRA's so you may have some luck with that.

There is no quick fix to these things! Whatever you do, don't fall foul to people who advertise that they can 'fix' your credit score for a fee!
