Hi
Didn't know the best place to ask this, but this forum seems friendly enough to help.
I have found an old postal order for £5.20 from 2004, as its over 6 months old its expired, does anyone know how i can claim the money??
Thanks

Hi,
According to the post office website which I'm sure you've checked it says:
Postal Orders can be cashed at any Post Office® branch for 6 months after the date of purchase. An attempt to cash a Postal Order after this 6 month expiry date will be at the Post Office's discretion.
As it's quite a small amount, maybe try to cash it and see what they say? It's "their discretion" after all!
Otherwise, I'd try calling Royal Mail and explaining the situation and seeing if they're feeling generous.
Hope it works!

Oh and I just found this in the FAQ bit too:
Can I cancel my Postal Order and receive a refund?
If your Postal Order has not been cashed, you may request a refund. To check the status of your Postal Order call 08457 223 344 along with your unique order number (found on your receipt).
Once confirming the order has not yet been cashed, please take the original order along with the receipt to a local branch. If you do not have these items, please post the receipt to:
