bancruptcy advice

Hi someone may have or is in the same boat as myself. I have debts that totalled 24.000 about 4 years ago, because i could not repay or afford to they stand know 50.000, due to interest, i am a single mum of 5, not working council tenant, benefits for income, will i loose all my benefits when going bancrupt?

    No you wont lose your benefits. I'm on benefits and was looking at bankruptcy last year, to be honest you probably don't have much to lose by it. There's a bankruptcy board just above this one the people there will have loads of advice for you.
    Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    I would post on the bankruptcy forum just above this one. They have been a great help to me on there. I'm in the process of bankruptcy now, and yes I'm terrified of the thought but after talking to CAB, CCCS and national debtline it does not seem like I have a choice there is no other options for me. I'm in a similar situation to yourself re benefits etc. and the advice I have had is that all my benefits will be ok. as I just don't have any surplus income at all. I would talk to at least one of the free debt advice lines if you have not done so allready.
