Credit cards: will they write off debts?

What are the chances of the credit card moguls writing off my debts? Has this happened to anyone?
Is it better to ask them to write off debts at the offset, or start with the "nominal payment" letter offering £1 a month repayments?
Advice welcome please.
PS: And no, I can't make the mimimal payments anymore; they are costing me £700 a month out of a salary of £400! I have nothing left over, so no chance of a DMP.

I think your chances of getting the debts written off are pretty much zero unfortunately.
Have you been making the minimim repayments up until now or are you in default with any of them?

when i was in debt now happily clear i found i had 1 written off, some i had reduced for settlement etc but that was all after they had been sent to dca or sold . and i had become solvent enough to start clearing my debts .
what ever never give more than you can afford and pay your priority debts.0 -
I have been making at least the minimum payments and have not defaulted on any of them (there are 9 currently in play).
