You need to ring Argos Direct before any refunds are given in any shape or form. How long have you had the item?

Thermostat should only make a clicking on/off noise as it regulates the temp shouldn't really make a "CLONKING" noise I'd give them a ring.

Our Hotpoint Fridge Freezer (FFM97) always clunks. Been replaced by John Lewis 3 times for other faults but each replacement clunks, clunks and clunks again. Have got used to it but sometimes a huge exploding noise can be a little annoying.
