Court summons, please help.

Hi all , perhap someone can offer some much neded advice.
I today recieved a summons from a solicitor acting on behalf of the builders merchant I use, I am a self employed builder and have been stiched up by my customer, to cut a long story short the job of a kichen extension was costing £23K she paid me £8 and has no more money until she sells her second property, she cant get a loan. I still owe the builers merchant £2K.
Any advice??

is it from the court ? or is it the solicitor telling you what they plan to do? if its from the court and you agree with the amount fill out the form say what you can afford and be realistic ,if its a fiver say so, and then the court will 99% agree and accept and then you pay it ,if its just the threat from solicitor write to explain and see if they will wait a certain amount of time. also start court proceedings against your customer .0

The letter is fro the solicitor giving me 7 days to pay.
My solicitor has issued a statuary demand, but as she says she is selling the house he seems to think that this is the quikest route to follow:mad:?0 -
