Combating Paying Full Price Before Being Reduced

Now that christmas is drawing near (sighs!) and some of you are already shopping for Christmas i thought you might like this advice. Dont you just hate it when you think you have got a bargain only for it to be half price again the next time you look!

Here's a way around this! Say you buy something at £10 and a few weeks later its £5 buy it! wait a few days and go back with your full price receipt and get £10 back! lol

I've done this a few times especially at christmas. Now this tip is great for places like dixons imagine buying your son/daughter a laptop for christmas and then the next day there is £200 off! buy it, dont open it and go back with your full priced receipt!

Make sure you don't open the box and read how many days you get to return the product and their policy but most are 28 days!

So for all those presents you buy keep the receipt it means if you are within the return period and see it reduced you can buy it wait a few days, go back with your full price receipt and get the difference back! REVENGE ON SHOPS!

lol

It works too - I used to do it all the time in the run up to Christmas - not quite as much now I do most of my shopping online but it saves you that awful feeling when you have paid more than you needed to :)

i'm sure on eor more of the credit cards offer you the amount back in cash on your card if you find the stuff cheaper within a certain period. and i think it is with any retailer.

i did that last night at asda. Had a telly for six weeks and was going to exchange it because it wouldnt turn on sometimes with the remote. When i checked the price it was £10 cheaper, so instead of an exchange i just got a full refund and the went and bought the new telly, which came with a new receipt

Were possible, especially on electrical goods, you should always get a refund and buy again, even if at the same price. That way the warranty/guarantee start again and will run from the new purchase date. Otherwise you often find with an exchange you are left with the same original receipt as proof of purchase (and date of purchase) and your warranty/guarantee will therefore still run from the date of the original purchase.
