I'm trying to eat as healthily as possible, and preferably as greenly and cheaply at the mo! I cant really afford expensive food (I'd love to be able to eat organic and green, but its just not possible), but does anybody have any ideas as to what species of fish I should avoid and which species are good choices with regards to depletion of fish species, and which arent going to break the bank? Hate salmon so thats not an issue!
Preferably oily types of fish.

One site worth looking at is the Marine Stewardship Council:
http://www.msc.org/ (Parent site)
http://eng.msc.org/ (Consumer site)
If you go to the page Where to buy (on the top navigation) and choose United Kingdom on the left hand menu you will get a list of all the major retailers in the UK.
Unfortunately the site uses frames so I can't post a link.0 -
Here is another link from the greenpeace website International Red List of Species.
Their blurb from the page is as follows:
'The Greenpeace International seafood red list is a list of fish that are commonly sold in supermarkets around the world, and which have a very high risk of being sourced from unsustainable fisheries.'0 -
Thanks very much!0
