Game tester?

Does anyone know any sites where youget paid to test games? I'm looking to up my income.

Hmm everything I've ever seen where games testing has been wanted has been as a full time job (and then, only if you have a quite detailed knowledge of the programming language used for the game - which is a bum as being paid to play games always sounded like a win-win to me!!).

If that still sounds interesting then the last time I saw one of those jobs was on Jobsite.co.uk

try going direct to Games publisher websites sucj as EA, Ubisoft, RockStar... there ar eloads. look in the career jobs section and there are lots of games testing jobs available

A friend of mine is a tester for one of the major developers. His dad already worked for them, so he had an advantage, but anyone can do it if they meet the standards. Most testers have a degree or similar qualification.

You don't really need to know how write software, but a good understanding of the processes involved in the production help a lot.

Most games testers earn around £20-£25k but its not as fun as you'd think. You might spend a week jumping repeatedly over a box, then spend your weekend writing a report about it.
