The CSA is ludicrous in its assessments

Hi There!
Well in my opinion you are both being robbed in the same way as my husband and I. The DOE took 43% of my husband's salary in May - I thought 40% was the max and 40% in June. Needless to say buying food is becoming increasingly difficult.
Now don't get me wrong, I think there are some well deserved cases out there and yes real fathers should pay for their children. But cases like oyur and ours are different to that. Why is there just one rule fits all. Some women unfortunately (and men) are kniving and mean and nasty in my humble opinion.
However, in our case, my husband has never seen the child and she only made the claim when the child was approx 6 as I understand it. In my opinion she wants vengeance for some reason but you can't have your cake and eat it - then refuse to take a DNA test but still expect to receive money. Cash for old rope - what a disgusting state this country is in. Why should someone behave in the way this woman is to my husband and to me. I am sure that there are many real fathers out there who don't pay when they should.
Anyway we are awaiting a response to a letter from our sol to her and if none will be pressing ahead with dec of non parentage at huge expense to ourselves in addition to the 40% that the CSA are already taking from my husband. This all ,akes me proud to be British - not........
Anyway good luck to you both with your cases and I hope you resolve the sitaution favourably to yourselves.....0 -
That's a few times I have read this recently on here and it is disgusting me - why the hell should these women refuse a DNA test and yet the men STILL have to pay?? It's bloody ludicrous...0

How many absent parents out there whose payments are calculated on the old formula for Child support , whom have more than one child to support and have paid religously what was required without default
If you have, then stop, look for that all important booklet supplied in practically every communication the CSA send you 'Help Notes'.
As the years were ticking on I sat down a read the book and soon discovered that a part of the Child support calculation, a sum of money which is called carer's allowance is not actually in the formula but someing the CSA took upon their shoulders to add and states so! However, it also states that when the youngest child reaches the age of 11 yrs the carers allowance is reduced by 25% and a further 25% when the child reaches 15 yrs.
This sounds all very well and good but did I get such notification from the CSA asking me to complete a new assesment form to take into consideration this aspect. Answer No?
When I started to to a basic calculation based on the figures of the original assesment which is quite simple all you need to remeber is that you are dealing with lunar months and not calender months, I was owed a considerable amount of money. I then contacted the help centre who were no help at all and then I wrote to the complaints department again did not meet their published expectations to write within 10 days etc.
My next plan of action was to write via my local MP. Surprise Surprise! It made all the difference. Although I had to provide information of earnings and expenditure re housing and such like, but at the end of the day I was owed a sum in the tune of £600.00.
It will not surpise me to see postings of anger from Caring parents who are haveing a hard time of it, but £600.00 to me is a lot of money.
Another gripe at the CSA - is their phrase "We take into consideration from both parties when it comes to who the Absent parent pays? The Caring parent or via the CSA...they do not,The CSA will always take your money regardless. that is my perception, unless there is an absent parent out there who can say otherwise?0
