You should post a SOA (see sticky at top of page) supplying details so that people can see where your money is going and make suggestions.

Meanwhile, my suggestions would be to keep a spending diary to log where your cash goes, have a look at reducing your bills via www.uswitch.co.uk, make sure you are getting all your tax credits/benefits via www.entitledto.com, get rid of SKY tv if you have it and use Freeview, reduce your mobile phone charges by switching contracts (or get rid completely, these really aren't a necessity - we didn't have them 10 years ago and we got by) and do batch cooking to reduce food costs. If you have a car, make sure you really need it because car ownership costs the earth (literally!)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

As the others have said the best place to start is with a Statement of Affairs. This will list all your incomings, outgoings and also your debts with APRs.

You may find with some help from the peeps on here you can increase the £400.

I don't know your individual circumstances so not sure what the £400 is to pay for and whether it is for everything or whether you have a partner of kids to feed etc but anyway. Have you checked to see if there are any benefits you can claim or that you are getting the right ones? I think the website is entitledto or something like that and you can do a quick check I think to see what you could get.
