Asset Link Capital
Hi, I am new to all this but have an issue with this company. Asset Link bought my debt from GE Money and to cut a long story short I defaulted with them to the tune of £2444 in July 2006. They took me to the county court in Cardiff for the amount and a judgement was made against me. I managed to borrow the money to pay the loan in full within the 28 day period given to me by the court and I received a letter saying the account was settled.
Last week I obtained my credit file from experian for the first time and was shocked to find 2 entries from asset link capital. The first one said I had defaulted on a loan for £2444 in July 06 but it was satisfied in February 07 (it was actully paid in August 06). The second entry was identical to the other entry but it said I had defaulted on the same amount £2444 and that there was an outstanding amount of £2672 still to be paid. This matched exactly an outstanding county court judgement at Cardiff county court which has been outstanding since July 06.
I have not received any notification or paperwork from the court or asset link in relation to this amount £2672 and its been sat there for 2 years on my credit file. I have requested my account information from asset link and I am still waiting for it to arrive.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated as to my next steps in a) getting the CCJ of my file and b) taking action against Asset link....
Essay over now thx

Hi
I have an ongoing prob with Asset Link, my Mum has been dealing with them for over a month now! All I can say is that they are NOT nice people!
You will need to contact experian re your credit file to inform them you settled the amount.
As for Asset Link-are you still receiving any correspondance from them or phonecalls? They are bullies and do not care what they do or say. If you read my thread you will see what they have been up to with my Mum!
You could complain to the Financial Ombudsman or try making a complaint directly to asset link (I wouldn't advise that though, as they prob wouldn't give a s****!) If they are not in touch, count yourself lucky-DO NOT ring them under any circumstances-if they get hold of your tel number they will prob never stop ringing you!
My mum is in a similiar situation, they brought a debt from GE, which dates back to 1992 and they are trying bullying tactics to get my mum to pay! All I can say is we all need to show them that they can't get away with treating people like they do.
Good Luck!0
