DD is having her 2nd birthday on Saturday, she's a Boxing Day baby so it's been delayed since then. It's going to be in the garden, there will be 10-12 little uns and mums.
I'm going to make a few bits for her party tea, have decided on scones with cream and jam for the parents as they're simple and nice if baked fresh the morning of the party.
For the children I was going to do mini sausages, cheese chunks, grapes and strawberries but then wanted to make some homemade bits like mini cheese pasties as I have lots of pastry in the freezer to use up and 600g of cheese. Having never made pasties before can anyone tell me what to put in cheese ones, is it just cheese, potato and onion? Also going to do some cheese biscuits (equal measures of butter, cheese and flour).
Going to do some fairy cakes with pink icing, crispy cakes and mini shortbreads cut with a gingerbread man cutter with the legs dipped in chocolate for their sugar intake
.
Any other suggestions?
breadsticks, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, and ritz crackers have always gone down well at our younger parties ... unlike the carrots sticks:rolleyes:0 -
Oooh good idea, DD loves cherry toms
