Typing From Home

I have heard of people who type documents for students or companies at home. Does anyone know where I could find out about doing this? I am a good typist and would like to earn extra money by working from home at evenings and weekends.

I would be interested in this too but as it's a self employed option am wary of the tax issues as know nothing about this.0

Don't be worried about this at all.
All you do is register as self-employed - you tell them the day you started, and you get a quarterly bill for NI contributions.
You should make a note of all business-related expenses, and income. Then, at the end of the financial year, you fill in your tax return - those two figures being the main entries that you need to worry about.
That's pretty much it. You can and should add in a proportion of your household bills (utilities, not shopping!) as expenses, and various other tweaks.
But it's NOTHING to be worried about.0 -
I'd be interested in this too. I work 3 days in the week in a job I love, but the hours will not be increased and so have had to keep the weekend job, which was only a stop-gap 4/5 years ago, but I long to give it up and get my weekends back. For me working from home is very appealing as most jobs are either Monday-Friday or weekends.0

I'm not sure how much demand there is for this type of service now, as most students have their own computer or access at uni. So, if you are good at grammar, it might be an idea to target foreign students whose native language isn't English, and who need their work checked.0

There are companies out there that offer work for typing at home but they are for typists experienced in certain areas such as legal and medical. As far as I know, not many openings come up thought but if you have a lot of experience in one of these areas and a typing speed of over 65 wpm then it may be worth keeping an eye on sites such as out sec for openings. hthBoots £0.42 Nectar 188 Pinecone £12 Shop & Scan 8500 Lightspeed 520 Ipoints 1329 T&V 38160 Juicy Brains £1.75 Pigsback £9.61TCB £345.08 Ipsos 990 Valued Opinions £11.40 Tesco £14.50 Consumer Pulse 12500 (+£390 already claimed/spent in total)0
