Will he be claiming since it's a replacement to the original he fitted 3 weeks ago? Do the NHS pay them for work they have to re-do because the first attempt has gone wrong?

I suffer from PTSD following a previous medical blunder & I am NOT sitting in his chair again! Maybe I'll call PALS & ask for their advice or the BDHF.

the patient wouldnt get charged, because its under guarentee (if the work needed is exactly the same) for 12 months BUT the dentist will still get his uda points, he doesnt work for free. is there a practice manager where you go? perhaps you could have a quiet word with her or another member of staff before using PALS? i sometimes think that companies (cant think of a better word) like that should be used in extreme cases and this could easily be cleared up within a phone call.:D

Also remember that any new NHS dentist you see will be under no obligation to replace your white crown with another white crown. In fact they are more likely to skew the argument that a white crown was not strong enough, so a gold crown would be better.

Good luck with what you decide to do.
:money: Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to everyone who has helped.

I spoke to my (very sheepish yet still unapologetic) dentit (oops - funny typo!) this morning who has agreed that another dentist will cement the new crown on. I presume that as the crown is in the process of being made the other dentist will use it, or he may decide to get a gold one made instead, I'll just have to wait & see. TBH, the colour of the crown is less important to me than who fits it at the moment.
