Halfords Spies - When is the next bike Sale?
small
I have just signed up to a scheme at work for getting a bike. I 'pay' (lease) for it over 1 year (interest free) out of gross salary (41% discount). In another 2 years I can buy it for 5% of the cost. The scheme only gives vouchers for Halfords which last for 4 months.
So in true money saving style, does anyone know what is coming up in the way of bike deals?
TIA

I would watch out for Halfords. My friend bought a bike from there along with lights, a helmet, water bottle-everything. They fitted it all for her, when she picked it up there were scratches everywhere! When she complained-they took off £10. She said that was unacceptible and wanted her money back. the manager was called and he said NO to her. Can you believe that? The bike had not even left the store and they refused to credit her card back-after THEY damaged the bike. She took it home and immediately called the company and wrote a letter. Nothing happened and she refused to ride the bike since she planned on returning it. Two months later and another letter, there is still no response. She is now having to go through trading standards. I cant believe it! She has payed £200+ for a bike that has just been sitting in her spare room.A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. --Eleanor Roosevelt0

She shouldn't have taken the bike from the shop. Taking it is seen as accepting it and now she'll have to prove she didn't scratch it at home.
As for the Halfords sale, I'd pop into your local Halfords (or phone them) and ask when they're having a sale. Last year they had one in Oct before the Xmas rush. January's always a good bet for a sale!Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!0 -
ask for the regional managers phone number. They will come in and kick !!!!!!.0
