Some questions on Surveys

Does anyone make money on a monthly basis by doing online surveys? If you do, how much do you make a month and do you have to register as self employed to pay any tax on it like you do with mystery shopping?

I get paid for surveys but some of them don't pay out until a largish amount has accummulated such as with YouGov - they pay 50p per survey but will only pay out when the total reaches £50.
I don't register my surveys or mystery shops as being self-employed because I don't do them everyday.
Some surveys such as Lightspeed and possibly Toluna pay out in vouchers e.g. £5 Amazon e-vouchers.
There is more chat about survey sites over on the freebies board.

Thankyou that's a great help. So you only have to register as self employed if you do it every day?0

Sorry Horace but can I ask how you made £779.42 in your ten pound a day challenge?!!!!!!!! That's impressive!0

I would have thought that strictly you should register as self-employed, but in my experience you aren't likely to make enough cash to make it worthwhile - I've never earned more than a few pounds a month doing surveys, because you have to wait for them to send them out to you, and then you always get screened out of a lot of them in the first few questions.0

I probably earn around £20 a month doing surveys, but then i am signed up to a lot of survey companies and get at least a couple of surveys a day. Some days i can make a bit, like today i made £5 from surveys and other days i can just keep getting screened out.
I don't register as self employed, but then i am covered as when i went to the tax office they just put a certain amount of my tax free earnings aside to cover mystery shops and other ways of making money.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I included all my free money which was made up from some carboot sales, pigsback and the bulk of it was a £520 grant from the jobcentre for a course that I wanted to do but couldn't afford.
I count all money as free money - that includes money off coupons, money that is found on the floor, down the back of the sofa and money that my chap leaves on the table when he comes to stay.
As you can see, I am not doing so well this month:rolleyes:0 -
Well, maybe you need to rifle his pockets then - lol. Mind you some of these boot sales leave alot to be desired. A friend of mine only made £7.45p profit!!.

:rotfl: That's a good idea, but he is a sweetie as he fills my car with petrol and when I say he leaves money lying around it isnt a few coins but usually about £15. I also earn money by going to the newsagents to buy him some fags (he wont give up:rolleyes: ) so I always say I haven't got any money, so he gives me some money and then says keep the change:j
I don't think I will do any more carboots, I went to one in Studley which was just too big and everyone wanted something for nothing. Still, I shall carry on with my measly ebay sales and will freecycle some stuff too.0
