DropShipping is a good way to make a little extra cash if you have some spare time.
For those that don't know what DropShipping is....
Similar to wholesalers, however you list an item from a dropshippers website on eBay (or similar) and add a little £ onto the price, then when someone purchases the item on eBay (or similar), you give the buyers postal information to the dropshipper and pay for the item via the dropshippers website. The dropshipper then posts the item to the buyer.
You make a small profit for hardly any effort, you don't have to worry about packaging or postage etc....
It might be worth some of you looking into... I'm not going to list many dropshipping websites, but one of the most famous clothes dropshippers in the UK is www.devilwear.co.uk.
Might be worth looking into for some of you that aren't interested in the fuss of wholesalers.
Note, this isn't a fast and easy way to become rich... you have to invest money and time first, for example, some dropshippers require a yearly fee, but give you 20/30/40% discount of the RRP price of items. I'd advise anyone that is thinking about getting into dropshipping, to do their research first.

It is also problematic on ebay, especially under the new rules. You are entirely dependent on your wholesaler to supply the goods in the time period allowed by ebay and paypal, if goods are late or lost the chargeback hits you the seller not the wholesaler. All business sellers must offer returns, so you need to be able to refund any buyer who changes their mind within 14 days, and you will be required to take the goods back.
Your personal address (or business address) must be added to your profile on ebay for all to see, yet you must also state clearly and openly if goods are coming in from a third party, and if so which country. if you happen to use a non UK shipper and your location is mistaken for the location of the goods then you can be reported. You also need to factor in customs and duty if using a non UK shipper, and warn buyers that they need to be aware this might be required by HMRC on delivery of goods.
Some wholesalers do not update real time, so it is quite possible for you to sell something that cannot be supplied, that leaves you with a neg and a non performing seller complaint. As sellers can now be suspended for having poor buyer satisfaction one non positive and a complaint might be enough to get you suspended.
Thionk this through carefully before laying out real money, check completed listings on ebay , how many competitors will you have and how much will they force down prices to do away with your new competition. When working out profit remember to factor in UK tax and NI and only if everything looks good even consider looking into this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
