I've noticed since the introduction of the new feedback system on ebay,as a seller i'm getting far more NPB's - and i can't even give them negative feedback.

A lot of sellers are reporting the same thing - if these are the new breed of buyers that eBay are trying to attract, then I'm worried.
The only way around it is to go immediate payment only, but that plays into ebays hands by forcing paypal, and not being able to offer combined postage to buyers.
I've had a few UPI's recently, and as much as I would normally take pleasure in awarding them a red blob, I appreciate that an unpaid strike is more effective in controlling these rogue buyers.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

What's more important to you? Having the pleasure of leaving a comment allowing the offender to continue to continue to bid on other people's items or getting habitual non-payers kicked off the site completely for the good of all?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I'd say both were important. A negative for non payment would warn other sellers prior to the buyer being kicked off for repeat non payment. The reason NPBs are increasing is that buyers (wrongly) imagine they are immune because they are aware sellers cannot neg them. OK they will get a shock if they keep doing it and get suspended however maybe they would not have repeated their behaviour if the first seller they messed around could have negged them?
Maybe eBay should add a lovely pop up on screen whenever someone clicks to bid or buy an item warning 'if you click to bid or buy this item and dont pay for it you are liable to a non payment strike and may be suspended". Now that would be nice.....

And how exactly does that "improve the buying experience"?
eBay can not be seen to upset the poor ickle buyers, when they have a (shrinking) pool of sellers to kick and abuse!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

That is not true.
I have bought more than one item from the same Seller on IPBIN and the Seller has simply refunded me the postage combine afterwards.

Yes, but every multiple payment that could have been combined will cost the seller proportionally more in paypal fees, ie. 20p more than it needed to be.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
That has to be balanced against the profit made on the extra items sold0

I've had yet another NPB today. I was patient, sent polite reminders and he strung me along. I only ever had one NPB out of over 300 sales, new feedback rules come in, now I have 3 NPB disputes out of 11 sales. All of the buyers have 100% feedback ranging from 8 to 32 - it seems they just don't care anymore. Yes, I know they'll get kicked off sooner or later, but the constant fear of them negging me is quite worrying.
I feel ebay must be getting the message as I've had 2 requests from them to fill out customer satisfaction surveys recently so I have used the opportunity to let them know how bizarre this change of buyer's attitudes is since the fback changes. Will it change - time will tell.0 -
Under the new rules, the negs will be removed when the npbs get kicked off....Yes, I know they'll get kicked off sooner or later, but the constant fear of them negging me is quite worrying....
(that didn't used to happen)
According to the latest info, ebay won't kick off sellers immediately they get a non-positive feedback, even if it does take them below the 5% rule."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
They are looking into a (possible) increase in NPBs but it takes 60 days from the changes to see what the difference is.
I have generally not been too bothered by the changes, but have noticed an increase myself in slow and non payers..0
