Some advice please

Hi all,
just wondered if anyone could advise on an old debt originally belonging to Lloyds.
The loan was originally £11k and to my knowledge, I have paid it all back.
Some months ago, I rec'd a letter from a debt collection agency chasing a balance of about £2.5k. So on the advice of a kind person on here, I cca'd them. This was ignored and then I rec'd another demand from another agency they had passed it on to. So I cca'd them also and they wrote back saying that they couldn't provide my original documentation but I was still obliged to pay this balance!
Today I rec'd another letter from another agency saying that if I do not pay up, they will turn up on my doorstep!
Are they allowed to do this and also, what do I do now?
Many thanks in advance

First, can i ask how lod this debt is?
When was the last payment or written acknowledgement from you that you owed the debt?
After 6 years (5 in Scotland) the debt will become statute barred and unenforcable. The DCA's will keep passing this debt on but if they can't provide the CCA then it will still be unenforcable. You will probably need to keep requesting the CCA from each new DCA until it becomes statute barred, and even then may need to write informing them that it is statute barred.
IF they send someone to your home, which is usually just a threat, they cannot enter your premises without your permission and don't have any "powers" that the paperboy doesn't have. They are not bailiffs as these would be appointed by the court so just ask them to leave your premises if they do show up.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi George,
this is the thing, I have paid which I thought was the last of my payments in the last 6 months or so. So they are saying 'well you obviously acknowledge this debt so pay it!'
I am not living at the address they have sent it to as we're renting the place out but we have a post re-direction to my Mum's where I'm staying currently. Could they easily follow that up?
I will send them a cca today though.
Thanks George

When requesting the letter, ask for a notice of assignment and statement of account.
Did you get anything from whoever you were paying to say that the final payment had been made? It might be worth writing to them to get confirmation as well as requesting a statement of account to check the transactions.
If they refuse you could do a SAR, but that's further down the line yet. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
