Great article, but what's the link to printyourowntickets.com about? The site is just a holding page / domain squatter...

I can't believe everyone isn't nuts about saving money. You work hard for it so why not make it work hard for you? And it's fun. It's mostly easy stuff - it's free money.

I guess for those that enjoy it purely as an intellectual challenge, then getting them to see what else they could buy with the money - what sense of security it would give them is maybe the key.

It's like you learn how to take care of your personal appearance , so why not treat money with the same care and attention?

i read this article before you posted a blog and thought it was really funny. I can't believe people are happier to be in massive debt and brag about it than be debt free!

There was an odd question in Martin's quiz in the guardian, askin

    Which is the worst deal?
    Correct answer: 30% off
You answered: Three for the price of two

I would always prefer 30% off rather than three for two as if I buy one, two, four or five of the product I would be better off than under the 'three for two' offer, and almost the same if I actually wanted 3 or 6.

Quiz is here by the way - got 9 out of 10...

i got them all right in that quiz!
Have to agree with you on that question about the "worst deal"... I was thinking, I'd rather have 30% off one thing than have to buy more than what I needed.

I was very pleased that I got all right (though originally I had misclicked one and only got seven!) ironic considering this is what it says: “You scored 8 out of a possible 8
