    Crips?

Wol, as I've said to you before, I have major wrist problems and after four years of begging for NHS treatment, I'm finally get some (not a lot) very sporadic "treatment" (consultation more like)! I'd say, go for it and go private.

    Hi wol my lovely xx

Sorry to hear that nasty consultant woman had the nerve to keep you waiting and then put the wind up you by giving you that leaflet and not explaining everything in it to you:rolleyes:

Just remember hun these leaflets are printed for a guide, and maybe not everything in it will apply to your injury hun, so things may not be as bad as they seem .;)

But i think you are right to get a second opinion and as you have said you are paying for it so may as well get the use of it eh?

Keep your chin up my lovely, you have the courage and determination to beat this thing hands down :D(sorry!!)

Take care, speak to you later
    Much love

  • Hi Wol, just read the mammoth post..my eldest daughter was diagnosed with RSD when she was 12..we had lots of visits to hospital ( this was after naffing around for a couple of years with wrong consultant) and it took a long time with treatment and tablets to get the pain reduced. Don't be fobbed off with them..if you are in pain keep ringing up and get some decent medication.

Hers has now receded a bit ( was told as she got older she would get better!it justchanged form)As she now lives in Cornwall treatment has been sporadic as GP lost her notes and she had to be re referred. We offered to pay privately for her, and it would have been the same consultant. So after getting on the right pill...yep her veins went down and affected her as well! And now she is on new meds..everything is looking up..she is now 21..so that shows what cannot be done if no nagging!(i would regularly nag when she was at home..to doctors!)

The main thing is definately physiotherapy as it is important for circulation..when she was at her worst she was in a heated pool and on crutches..
What between her and DD2 my hair has gone curly with the stress.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you get some good results soon..and i can sympathise as DD1 used to get so bad she couldn't hold a cup or feed herself at one point.:o
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Jeez Wol I had no idea that you had such a !!!!!! year! And during that time you were being a big support to other people too. WOW.

The house hunting has stalled at the moment. OH has had some more interviews for jobs, so we are waiting to hear if a) he got any of them and b) what the package is if he does get it.

The house hunting has stalled, because NOTHING new is coming on the market. And what we have seen has not been big enough really. Houses tend to be 3 bedroom here, and we came from a 4 bed detached place in the UK. So they just won't fit all of our belongings. The one house we have seen that would be big enough is in a different suburb to where the boys schools are. We are hoping that this time, especially my DS1 will be able to go and play at other boys houses, something that we couldn't be done easily where we living before. So it is not ideal. Will have to think about it.

Ref the RSD. I would strongly suggest that you go and book a double appt with your dr and tell the receptionist it is so you can discuss this leaflet. They should know about it anyway so that the gp can manage your pain relief etc in the community. I would also complain about the way you were treated as this is not on just to dump a piece of paper on you, and for them to expect you to deal with for another 6 weeks until the next consultants appointment. I would be chuffing livid!

Is there any stuff about RSD on the net? Maybe a support group or something?

Ref the driving HURRAY. ref the work hip hip hurray - AS LONG AS YOU LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. Ie if someone wants a meeting a 9am say no because you have to do physio every morning, so 10 am would be better. etc etc.

    Good luck
    chev
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
