Need some other opinions on the situation I find myself in.
As some of you may recall a few weeks ago I found myself a little parttime job in the local pub waitressing. OH wasn't too pleased but seemed to come around to the idea.
I must admit when I took the job I thought it would be 2-3 nights a week. Turns out its only on a sunday night. Still I thought £16 is better than nothing.
Trouble is for the last 2 weeks I've only worked a part shift as they've closed the kitchen early to do lack of customers (nice weather = bar-b-ques,lol!) and I'll be luckly to bring home £10 for each night.
So do I continue it (must admit I'm getting disheartened at the sort hours I'm working) or do I give it up - as OH doesn't seem to think the hassle its causing is not worth the effort?
(Would add I'm looking into other venues for extra working so I'm not a completely lazy mare!)

You can probably make that working from home (no BOB, not the BlackAdder version) ebaying/AQA/mystery shopping.
Don't sell yourself short - you are worth more than that.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -
I would give it up and look for something that pays more andhas guaranteed hours.0

IF it was me I'd first have a chat with the boss to see if there's any possibility of any extra hours, I know that the answers proabably 'no' but still it's worth asking. If it's a definate non starter then I'd have a look around for something else- there's bound to be another PT job out there for you.
I have a FT job but I will be looking for an extra PT job as well soon, I've done this before and found it a good way to make ends meet. I find that ebay is fine for making a few pounds here and there but, in my case at least, there's no way I's be able to make a regular income from it because I simply don't have anything to sell.
Good luck and keep us posted.0 -
Thanks for the replies Guys.
I have asked the boss to let me know if there are any extra shifts going but there isn't ....although having said that a fortnight ago I did a double shift on a sunday because someone hadn't turned up, so I know they are thinking of me when they need to.
Although its hard work I do enjoy it but when the income is so erractic I do wonder whether its worth it but then I think £10 is £10!
I'm going to phone a couple of places that have advertised for week-time evening staff (which would be better for me) so hopefully I won't have to worry about the hours on a Sunday any more!2014 Target;

I applied yesterday for a part-time position with British Gas and had a text back today to say that they wanted to interview me.
This would be better for me because a) its more £ per hour b) its based near to my daytime office and I wouldn't be spending any more travelling as I get a season ticket c) I won't constantly smell salt and vinegar!
So I have my telephone interview next Saturday (which will give me abit of time to prepare the ground with OH!).
So cross fingers for me guys!2014 Target;
