i have thought about renting the spare room but i'm not sure if i could cope with someone else in my house, kind of got used to the freedom ... also one of my cats is petrified of people, he wont come in the house if someone else is here.

I've made a start clearing out the room though, put some stuff on freecycle, big household stuff.

Started listing my books on amazon to sell but im shocked at how many i must have, i've already listed 50 and still have loads more, havent even collected them up from other rooms yet!! another few hours needed before i see any headway, just hope it will be worth it and they sell..

i plucked up the courage to check my bank account earlier and im not as penniless as i thought.. my overdraft is spread over two accounts, one with abbey the other with lloyds.

I have £40 left in my lloyds account and £13 in my abbey account !! obviously this is my overdraft and the whole point is to stop using them and to clear the debt soooo im not going to use it, i promise i wont !!

I have no need to use the money, i have enough food in for me and the cats to last till payday next week.

am i convincing you yet?? lol i will make this my mantra for the next few days and keep coming back to this if necessary as i dont want to spend it!

Another item sold on amazon! so thats 4 out of the 75 listed :T only 71 left to go lol. And thats not everything i want to put on there...

I spent last night working out my finances for when i get paid on wednesday. I'm going to challenge myself to live on £75 for the month, this includes food :eek:

I've gone through my cupboards and freezer and have the stuff to make at least 28 meals, this should last me until next payday so food bill will be for fresh stuff only.

If i can do the £75 i will clear both overdrafts this month (assuming quidco pays this month), this is my workings out...

Income-
Wages +797 (after mortgage and travel)
Extra +158 (quidco)
Total +955

Outgoings-
Bills -338
Overdraft -150 (abbey)
Overdraft -350 (lloyds)
Opticians -13 (outstanding bill)
NPower -13 (to clear account as switched)
Additions -10
Total +81

Even if the money does not come from quidco this month, if i can stick to the very small budget i will still only be in my overdrafts by £158.. the same as the payment due from quidco... that means i still pay off £342!!

The money i get from amazon is going in a seperate account that i generally dont use as there's no money in it.. if i can make extra money on anything else this month this will also go into the seperate account incase of emergencies..then whatever is there will be transferred to the overdraft a couple of days before July payday.

wish me luck....think i'm going to need it lol

Sounds like you are doing really well.

When my ex left he left loads of books so I put them on green metropolis, you get £3 per book which all adds up, I have sold a few now.

thanks for the post Jules, i have used greenmetropolis before but to be honest i havent sold a book on there for 3 month.. so i decided to move it all to amazon.

On the subject of amazon, i've decided to close my listings for a couple of days as i've sold 12 books in 2 days!!! i have'nt got the money to post them until wednesday so at this rate i could have ended up 24 books to post in one day :rotfl: lol

So i've packaged the 12 up ready and first thing wednesday they go to the post office, ha ha im going to be so popular with the people in the queue...when i get home i will reopen the listings for the other stuff on there...

didnt think things would sell this quick so was'nt prepared enough but i wont be complaining when the money hits my account :T
