Hiya
With the summer coming I like to shop online as I hate the hustle and bustle and overheat stupidly. I did it last year and stuck to asda but now I've been hearing about Tescos having some good deals in too so I'd like to know what everyone thinks about the various bargains/similarities/comparisons/what they wouldn't touch with a bargepole etc.
So yes, who do you find the best value (not necessarily the cheapest - just best all round for what you spend) etc?
Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco etc?

Hi there,
I always use the site www.mysupermarket.co.uk
Its a great idea....you fill your shopping trolley in the supermarket of your choice, and then the site compares all the items in your tolley at your chosen online supermarket and them compares it all the the cost at the other online supermarkets. If you then remember to factor in the discount codes for each supermarket that you can track down in the discount threads of this site, you can chose the cheapest to place the order with.
Im my opinion as to which is best, it all depents what things you typically buy, so can be different from one family to the next.
I don't like the fruit and veg from Adsa for example, so if I am buying a lot of fresh veg in a shop, I don't factor them in, for a general grocery shop with tins, frozen food etc.. the cheapest gets my order.
I think the site is handy anyway....:)"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass....it's about learning how to dance in the rain"0 -
I used to love Asda online, but we moved and they don't deliver to us here now. So ner to them.
Tesco's I would not touch with a bargepole. I know they are better at releasing money off codes etc, but the times when we have used them a lot of the items we ordered were not in stock. They were also terrible at choosing substitutes, eg. replaced garlic chicken with lemon pepper chicken, or ribena with value brand blackcurrant which tasted like cough medicine.
A lot does depend on your particular local store though, so it might be worth trying them all out once or twice.
And I second using mysupermarket!!:www: :: MFi3 ::

I have used Tescos for years average weekly delivery now £110 - £120
Last week Asda started deliveries in my area so tried them , cost me £91 and this week £60 , for same amounts and brands as i buy from Tescos
Tescos points codes are almost non existent so i will stick with Asda now for foreseeable futuredonstermonster0 -
Thank you
I'm lucky that I have Lidls, Asda, Tesco, Netto, Kwik Save, 2 Icelands, Farmfoods, Sainsburys and Somerfield etc all nearby with the furthest one being about a 20 minute walk but what with the summer, I hate having a further stress on with sweating cobs and battling with forgetting carriers etc for a couple of months so it seems the most sensible thing to do.
I guess iceland do have the 'we will deliver it for you' thing though...
Does the mysupermarket link take into account all the offers from various shops?0 -
I use mysupermarket and for the things that I want Tesco is always the cheapest. They compare ASDA Sainsbury Tesco and Orcado [Waitrose].:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0
