    Hi

Water meter is a good idea - I had one fitted for free and since then my bill has reduced from £32pm to £12pm and set to reduce again next month - £10 estimated so it's well worth doing. It also makes you more aware of the water you use - i.e. loading the washing machine up and doing 1 or 2 washes per week instead of lots, not leaving taps running, not using dishwasher etc. It all helps.

Do you have a Lidl, Aldi or Netto near you? I used to shop in Tesco but since I've started shopping in Lidl I've reduced my food bills by half and can afford to treat myself at the same time (just a bar of choc or bottle of wine) which I couldn't afford to do before.

    Good luck.

Most councils are offering an incentive to help people change from disposable nappies to cloth. FOr example, my LEA is offering £45 for one child, or £70 for two - not loads but a start!
    Good luck x

I don't know much about nappies (my kids are grown up and not sure they would appreciate them!) but a colleague of mine who shops in Lidl buys nappies in there. Apparently they are just as good quality as Tesco ones and cheaper. I can't personally vouch for the quality or price, but just what I've been told.

Hi and welcome. If your internet is broadband then you could look at doing daily clicks (theres a thread somewhere). It may not bring in much it may be wortha thought.
How about postal surveys as well (they pay in stamps)
And its definately worth keeping a spending diary, you don't realise how all these little bits and pieces add up.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
  • Thanks for all your replies and helpfull advice, been reading loads of threads on here, paying particular attention to DMP's. Do you think this might be an option for me? Although every month seems to end with a bit of credit, this will become much less come december and the debts are not going to go away any time soon? What are your opinions as to this route?
