How long should I wait for response from OR?

Dear all
I posted a few weeks ago to say my old employer had paid me some holiday pay so last month I was quite a bit 'up' on what my earnings said on my I&E to the OR.
I posted my payslips and a letter advising this months earnings were higher for 1 month old due to holiday pay. I sent this recorded delivery and it was signed for on 6th June.
So....how long to wait and see if the OR wants to take this 'extra' money? I would rather not ring...this might 'alert' them to it. Is there a specific amount of time in that they have to tell you they want some money or do I wait forever? :eek:
Am in need of turf (!) and could do with the money
Thanks MC x

Sorry MC, I don't know the answer. That money must be burning a hole in your pocket. Unless its a substantial sum I don't think they would take it but I believe it is up to the individual OR what they decide. I hope you get to keep it!

If it's any help, my OR seems more than reticent to speak to me - I'm *still* waiting for a letter saying I will/won't be getting an IPA, (I'm 10 months into my BR) and about 4 weeks wait for a letter saying he has received my third party's payment for my car so it's now exempt and mine to keep. I guess I will still be waiting after AD - and like you I'd rather not contact him by phone (especially as mine is a total and utter complete git
)
I would keep the extra separate in another account or under the mattress, or stick it in partner's/family ISA/higher interest account, then it's there if he does want it, and if it gets to the end of 12 months and nothing said, I guess you spend it
I don't know how much it is, but I think if it's under £100 they don't usually bother, if you don't have an IPA anyway they might not bother and if you are not paying a Tax Code only IPA they may not bother. I guess that doesn't help too much - you could always try ringing the IS 'on behalf of a friend who's gone BR' and see what they say. Do not feed the trolls please.0 -

from previos posts on here most OR,s cant seem to be bothered collecting money from a one of blip in income, its just not worth it to the IS it appears

But that doesnt mean your OR wont so no definative answer to this one im afraid.
Pixie, if your OR doesnt get you to sign an IPA before your discharged they cant afterwards, so two months and your free if they dont get there finger out;)Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

I know, hence me not being totally forward with contacting them :rotfl:Although, in my defence, I shouldn't get one anyway as we are *so* skint it's not funny - another thing the OR was cross about, as my OH earns a pittance, but as I told him (the OR) at the end of the day, it's none of the OR's business how little my OH earns, he's done nothing wrong and therefore shouldn't have to get a better paid job to support his partner's (that'll be me) mistakes. The OR didn't like it, but didn't argue the fact either. Nasty little man

Good luck Pixie, I hope this next 2 months flies by for you!

I'm eight month through my bankruptcy living with a partner and two kids. We have received a payment from the Tax Credit because we were underpaid during last financial year. the payment corresponds Child Tax credit and Workig Tax Credit for my partner. Do I need to mention this to the OR as gain? unsure any advice would be useful. Many thanks0

Any change in financial circumstances you should contact the OR within 21 days (although if its not for a great deal of cash the OR probably wont be too bothered)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
