Hgv Articulated Driving Course?

my husband has one part of his hgv but needs this articulated bit for him to be able to apply for a wider range of jobs. i have looked around and the course seem pretty expensive as much as £1500 with a guaranteed pass, as you pay 199 for each re-test or lump sum of 399 for as many retakes as it needs for you to pass. has anyone done this recently and gotten a better deal? or maybe seen an advert somewhere for it being a little cheaper. we know that they ofer a loan if necessary but our credit rating is awful due to his previous relationship and really dont want to get anymore debt so were planning to save the money first and then for him to take the test. we are also having to wait for his next lot of holiday leave to come around as i wouldnt feel happy him packing up his job to do this and then have trouble finding work. all adverts say guaranteed work until you read the small print!! hope someone can help us??
