Argos Card?

Advice needed? I applied for an Argos Card at least 8 weeks ago, the reason to get a wii on interest free for 3 months and pay in 3 installments. They told me that I should receive it in 10 days (approx) as mentioned still no sign. My question is, if I receive my card after the 3 month period will I have to pay any accrued interest? Also does anybody think that after this length of time I may have even received a free Wii (think that is highly unlikely)!

When you applied, did you apply in store, and if you did were you successful and did you pay on your account then?
I would chase up the card at Financial Services (0845 640 0701), but if you have been receiving statements saying how much you owe then yes if you go over 3 months you will have to pay interest, but if you have not received statements then I would ring that number quickly!

    Hope this helps.

I applied in store, they give me a credit limit. I didn't pay any money. I also haven't received any statements.

They gave you a credit limit, but did you actually make a purchase with the application?
If not, then it's not urgent, if you did it is VERY urgent and you need to telephone ASAP card services.

do you know if the apr rise on the argos credit card can be challenged and if so who can you ring to get them to re look at the rise ?? CSA were no good just a fob off and said it was the credit crunch and it was Barclays who do the apr rise not them. Barclays being the underwriters of the Argos CC.

Sorry that's not my area, I work in store on Customer Services - all I know is that if you pay off in time then there's no APR and no anual fee. All I can suggest is ring Argos card services.

On the subject of the Argos card, how does the interest charging work if you have mixed interest free/regular purchases? For example, say I spent £600 on something under the pay nothing for 6 months offer, then also buy something under normal terms for £100. If I pay £100 do they know to take that as full payment for the second purchase and therefore not charge me interest or will they allocate it against the £600 item as it was purchased first?

The money will be allocated to money under the normal plan first then any money under the buy now pay later plan. Argos could easily make money by doing it the other way around and earn interest on the normal credit until the BNPL plan was paid off, but they don't.

You can find the full details in the terms and conditions
