Why are we always in the wrong

Sorry just having a general moan.
I've posted on the PPI thread but haven't cooled down yet. The misses has a storecard with Debenhams and she's been paying PPI for 12 years. They sent me a copy of the CCA which clearly shows she didn't want it. The lying sods have said she requested it over the phone. Complete rubbish! My moan is that these people are quite prepared to do anything they want as they know most people can't afford to chase them.

Moan over.

Don't think she did notice but thanks for the support. The SAR shows that it was cancelled and reinstated on many occasions. The only constant being that there was no involvement from the account holder.

We had it and it didn't pay out, then they admitted they mis sold it when we took out our LV card. Doesn't stop them chasing us for the money the insurance should have paid off.

Yes I can't believe them brokenhearted. Can you imagine if they were in possession of a CCA with a PPI ticked and I said 'No you rang me and cancelled it'. I don't think so. I do understand the comment about the misses not saying anything but does this make it any less of a con.

Tell me about it chipbeck. I took out a stupid loan and car HP before my LBM. I refused PPI as i work for a local authority and have benefits plus a pretty much zero chance of redundancy. They say no ppi no loan sorry. I say why, they say its company policy. I say if its company policy you won't mind putting that in writing, they say sure and duely issue me with the letter.

I leave it a week ask a few work mates and they say nope they cant do that. I call them and they say oo sorry it shouldn't of happened and used the lack of staff training excuse. they tell me i have a choice either continue at agreed monthly payment and the loan term will reduce or reduce payment. I opted for the 1st option and followed up the ppi cancelation in writting.

2.5 years down the line i ask for an illistration of how much longer both the loan and the hp have left and about have a heart attack to find out that they had never took the ppi off. I complained they said nope your stuck with it. I SAR'd them for account notes etc that proved i cancelled it within the 28 days. complained again enclosing the relevent bits of their own files and they offered me a partial settlement so i have wen't to the ombusman.

I know that won't help you but just keep at them. Do they not have to prove she rung and requested it. phone transcript etc.
