    hi
my main clubcard is unregistered & the balance is getting quite high (i think) 4000 points... is this high? what is considered high by tesco?

i am worried that because i've not registered it yet they'll start to purge the points..... If i register & they send me vouchers these have expiry dates on em..... but if i dont register the card can i keep adding points forever until i decide 50000 points is enough for what i want & register my address to receive the coupons.

(we actually have 2 cards, both accumulating around the same speed.... & would also be interested in hearing from others that have merged 2 or more cards into 1 registered account. )
    thanks

thats pretty normal with deals though ....

the prices ARE going to be more expensive than other TA's when using deals

still if you have enough deals to pay the for full holiday, its still pretty good!
  • When using a .com discount code for a minimum spend eg £50, does this include the delivery charge. Also as the guide price doesn't include discounts for multiple buys do I have to ensure the correct price is above £50 to retain the use of the code or is it a case once accepted its fine.

    Thanks

Hi hope l am posting on the correct thread.

I recently cashed in some vouchers for lifetime membership of the syh for two people. Vouchers arrived fine and l forwarded them to syh but a month later they have not received them. Can l go back to Tescos and get new ones or have l lost them for good.

    Thanks

I think you have lost them. Tesco say that you should send vouchers by Special Delivery to insure against their loss.

It is worth working out how many Clubcard vouchers you could convert to holiday Deals before planning on using them for a holiday. You need to convert a significant amount before it becomes worthwhile because you cannot use any other offers.

For example, assume you want to take a £2000 holiday. You can fairly usually get 10% off a holiday using the right method so we can assume that holiday would cost £1800.

If you wanted to use Clubcard vouchers to buy Deals you would need to have enough to compensate for not getting the 10% off. For example, if I had £50 of Clubcard vouchers that I converted to Deals that would get me £200 off the holiday but I would effectively be throwing away £200 worth of Deals! Whereas if I had £250 of Clubcard vouchers that would give me £1000 off the holiday, which would be equivalent to a £800 saving overall.

Thanks K.O.F. for your very clear explanation of one of the pitfalls of using part deals/part cash to book a holiday.

It is probably worth pointing out that part deals/part cash works better for childless couples (young or old) who have few if any discounts (free child places etc.) available from the holiday provider.

As said before, families can often do as well simply buying the holiday from a cheaper supplier, and not wasting their deals.

Don't know if it is different for holidays in the UK, but I have just booked a family holiday to Pontins using clubcard vouchers and still got the online discount despite booking it over the phone and also the other discounts which were being offered at the time. The holiday for five ended up costing £66. Not bad for two adults and three kids!:money: :j
