What will happen to city centre apartments?
Comments
-
Apartments that are not bought would remain with their current owners - why would they be knocked down???poppy100
-
current owners - do you mean the builder? In manc I know of about 400 flats (in one dev) that haven't been sold yet (or finished) lolOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0
-
The builder will sell them eventually, even if it means slashing the price dramatically. They want cash, not empty houses.poppy100

Yea I assume that's what will have to happen.... it'll be interesting to see how much the prices get slashed, these apartments are really high spec....Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0

A bunch of new houses near me has just been slashed by £60k each, from £250k to £190k. Across ten houses, that's a whole lot of hurt.poppy100
-
Now I'd like it if that happened.......I've got my eye on a 225 new build house that isn't ready yet...................I guess it depends on where you are
I know there've been reports about flats in the centre of town (manc) in negative equity already, but I really can't see any real drops where I'm looking....

Maybe my dream of the 'sex and the city' lifestyle in Wigan are over:

I am in mourning for the life I have lost. I was ready to put my 50k deposit down. I can almost taste that city living in downtown Wigan. Crying Shame - what's a young professional in a northern town to do now?0 -
this must be gutting for you bluejake! You'll have to live in a bus shelter with the homeless (and by homeless I mean recently repossessed homeowners, NOT winos!)

what about using them for storage of nuclear waste canisters?
Nirex are short of places, lots of empty flats that wont sell - all seems obvious to me! :rotfl:0
