I am just trying to understand the silly tag?

To me, it looks like a well worded and well presented press release aimed at promoting the pizzeria business. The author has used the credit crunch angle to tie in a high profile news story with a degree of lavish expenditure with the sole intent of promoting the pizzeria.

The article is not at all serious in it's questioning of whether a credit crunch has occurred, rather it does so in the hope of stimulating debate and further promoting the Pizzeria business. Additionally, it's the kind of filler story I would expect to find in any newspaper.

Unless of course I have completely missed the point of Martins comment?

  • I think it's absolutely disgusting, gross and abhorrent when there are people in the world who are minutes away from deaths door because they cannot even afford a handful of rice.
£350 quid for something that is going to disappear down someones gullet.
Some very strange and sick people in this world for sure.

It's ridiculously expensive, but it's legal and so if people want to spend their money on it, there should be nothing stopping them.

Additionally, if you assume that slices of the pizza are 1/8th or 1/6th each, buying the whole pizza for £350 is actually significantly cheaper than buying by the slice. (£350/8 = £43.75, £350/6 = £58.34).
